The Sacred Meaning of Seasonal Sickness

Being a Scorpio, I’ll admit, I was a little upset to start the Libra–Scorpio season (my favorite season, the one I thrive in) feeling sick. COVID? Yes. But why?

At first, it felt like such a betrayal to begin the most powerful, transformational time of the year slowed down, foggy, and unable to channel my usual energy. But then I remembered something, something that I’ve learned over and over again from a very dear friend, Teri Martell: when the body breaks down, the spirit is breaking open. Of course, when I told Teri I was sick, the first thing she said was, “It’s the Universe telling you to slow down.”
This year had been one of the busiest and most intense years I’ve experienced in a long time. I was constantly moving, giving, helping, creating, holding space for others, pouring from a cup that was quietly running dry. I had stretched myself thin in the name of love, service, and purpose, never realizing how depleted I had become. So when the season I usually flourish in arrived with sickness, I understood, my body wasn’t punishing me, it was calling me back to balance.
During my down time I found myself in moments of emotional distress where I would just cry for what seems no reason. I was getting a weird symptom or worsening symptom each day.
Libra–Scorpio season is a cosmic threshold, a bridge between balance and transformation, light and shadow, air and water. Libra teaches us harmony and reflection; Scorpio invites us into depth, truth, and rebirth. When you start this sacred season sick, your body may not be failing, it may be purging. You’re not being held back, you’re being realigned.
This kind of sickness feels different. It’s not just physical; it’s energetic. It’s the body’s way of saying, “Something within you is shifting. Rest, release, and let the old frequencies burn away.” COVID, a cold, exhaustion, emotional overwhelm, they can all be signs that your energy field is upgrading to match the vibration of this powerful portal between Libra’s air and Scorpio’s water.
Scorpio season, especially, doesn’t let us hide from truth. It brings to the surface what needs healing, purging, and transformation. So when illness arrives right at the threshold, it’s often a sacred cleanse, a forced reset before rebirth.
Spiritually, it’s as though the Universe whispers:
“You cannot carry this old energy through the veil. Rest now, and rise renewed.”
When we honor the sickness as part of the shift — rather than fighting it — we open ourselves to deeper healing. The body and the spirit are always in conversation; sometimes, the body just speaks louder when we’re not slowing down enough to listen.
So yes, I started my favorite season sick. But as I lay still, breathing through the fever and fatigue, I could feel something greater happening. My body was purging not only a virus but months of overextension, emotional buildup, and energy that had run its course. And on the other side of that discomfort… was clarity.
Because in true Scorpio fashion, death and rebirth always travel together.

Libra’s Lesson: Restoring Balance
Libra rules equilibrium — physically, emotionally, spiritually.Sickness at the start of Libra or as it transitions to Scorpio can mean something is out of alignment — perhaps overextending yourself, holding emotional tension, or resisting needed rest.
It’s a reminder that harmony isn’t about doing more; it’s about bringing the self back to center.Your immune system mirrors this: it strives for balance and peace just like your emotional energy does.

Scorpio’s Lesson: Purging What Needs to Go
As Scorpio energy begins to rise, it brings detoxification, both emotionally and physically.Scorpio rules the reproductive organs, eliminative systems, and transformation of matter — symbolizing the process of release and renewal. So illness at this time can be the body’s way of purging stagnant energy or emotion that needs to leave before rebirth can occur.
Spiritually, it can mean you’re clearing old attachments, grief, or energies that can’t travel with you through the thinning veil.
“Sometimes your body gets sick not because it’s failing — but because it’s healing.”
The Thinning Veil & Energetic Sensitivity
As the veil thins, sensitive souls — especially healers, empaths, and intuitives like you — often feel the energetic weight of both worlds. You may unconsciously absorb collective grief, ancestral energy, or seasonal fatigue. This can manifest as physical symptoms:
Fatigue or flu-like illness
Digestive disruption
Head pressure or dizziness
Emotional heaviness or “fog”
Your energetic field is processing more input than usual — and illness can be a natural form of energetic grounding or reset.
Spiritual Interpretation
If you’re starting Libra–Scorpio season sick, the deeper message might be:
Your body is asking for realignment before renewal.
You’re being purified before transformation.
Spirit is slowing you down so you can cross the threshold consciously.
This is a sacred pause — not a punishment. You’re being prepared to step through the veil lighter, clearer, and more connected.
Healing Ritual for Transition
If you want to support your body–spirit harmony during this shift:
Rest intentionally — Light a candle and say, “I allow my body to rest as my spirit transforms.”
Hydrate and ground — Scorpio energy can flush toxins; water helps energy flow.
Salt bath or shower — Libra energy clears the mind, Scorpio cleanses the aura.
Sleep with intention — Ask your guides to help you release what the sickness is teaching.
Journal — Ask, “What is this illness helping me clear before I move forward?”

The greatest blessing out of this transformation is that you’re acknowledging it… when it’s all well and done. I’ll see you on the other side, Friend 😇💕 be 💪 and amazing…
