Dominions: The Benevolent Order We Didn’t Know We Needed

Each month, when I sit down to write this newsletter, it is done with guidance and intention. I do this work in collaboration with my dear friend Teri, whose heart and spiritual insight continue to inspire the direction of these messages. It was her idea, and her wish, that each month we focus on a benevolent being whose presence can support us collectively.

Sometimes Teri receives a clear sense of which being wants to come forward. Other times, she simply feels the energy of the month and leaves the rest open. When that happens, I step into research, reflection, and discernment, trusting that the right guidance will reveal itself.

It was through this process that I began to discover something I hadn’t fully understood before. There is a difference between archangels and angels, and even more layers beyond that. As I followed that thread, I came across a category of angels I had rarely heard spoken about. And yet, the more I learned, the more I realized this was exactly the kind of guidance many of us need right now.

These angels are called Dominions.

What Are Dominions?

Dominions are not archangels, and they are not personal guardian angels. They belong to a higher order within the angelic hierarchy and are often described as angels of divine governance.

That word “governance” can feel heavy, but Dominions are not rulers, judges, or enforcers. They do not control, command, or override free will. Instead, they quietly support order, balance, responsibility, and ethical structure.

If archangels bring big messages and guardian angels bring comfort, Dominions help life function more smoothly.

They work behind the scenes, assisting when things feel chaotic, overwhelming, or misaligned. Their presence is subtle, calm, and steady.

Why We Rarely Hear About Them

Dominions don’t create dramatic signs. They don’t usually appear in visions or emotional moments. They don’t arrive with fanfare.

They specialize in:

• Clarity without force

• Responsibility without pressure

• Order without rigidity

Because of this, they’re often overlooked. Yet their influence becomes very noticeable when life asks us to step into maturity, wisdom, and integrity.

The Three Angels Often Associated with Dominions

While many angels operate within this order, three are most commonly referenced in traditional angelology.

Hashmal

Hashmal is associated with divine authority and ethical clarity. Not authority over others, but authority within oneself.

This energy shows up when we need to:

• Separate ego from responsibility

• Make decisions that affect others

• Do the right thing, even when it’s uncomfortable

• 
  

Hashmal doesn’t push. It clarifies. There’s often a calm certainty that arises, a sense of “this is the right course.”

Zachariel

Zachariel supports order, timing, and structure. This energy helps align events so things unfold in the proper sequence.

Zachariel’s influence can be felt when:

• Life feels scattered or disorganized

• You are building something meant to last

• You need patience and trust in the process

This presence often brings the feeling that things are becoming manageable again, one step at a time.

Jophiel (in the Dominion role)

While Jophiel is often spoken of as an archangel of beauty and wisdom, in the Dominion order the focus is different.

Here, Jophiel helps with:

• Organizing thoughts and priorities

• Clearing mental clutter

• Simplifying life without losing meaning

This energy feels light, refreshing, and mentally clarifying, like opening a window in a crowded room.

How Do You Know Dominions Are Near?

Dominions don’t announce themselves. Instead, people often notice:

• A desire to put things in order

• Calm while handling responsibility

• Clear thinking without emotional overwhelm

• Simple, obvious solutions appearing after confusion

• A sense of steadiness replacing chaos

You may not feel emotional highs, but you may feel more capable.

How to Work With Dominion Energy

You don’t summon Dominions. You align with them.

They respond to:

• Humility

• Integrity

• A willingness to take responsibility

• A desire for balance rather than control

They do not respond well to urgency, fear, or ego-driven demands.

A simple way to invite their guidance is through intention:

“I ask for guidance that brings order, clarity, and integrity to this situation.Help me act wisely and responsibly.”

That alone is enough.

Why This Matters Right Now

Many of us are navigating:

• Aging and redefining purpose

• Health routines and life transitions

• Leadership within families or communities

• The need for structure without rigidity

Dominions are especially supportive during these phases. They don’t rush us forward. They help us stand where we are with confidence and clarity.

They remind us that responsibility does not have to feel heavy, and that order can be an act of compassion.

A Closing Reflection

I believe this message came forward this month because so many of us are tired of chaos. We don’t need more noise. We don’t need more urgency.

We need balance, wisdom, and steady guidance.

Dominions offer exactly that.
